Looking at a lot of platforms and different engine builds the 9:1 is very common and seems to be very safe and makes really good power. I'd be all for it. How ever not being a tuner of the Vg I don't know the response on most engines when it comes to timing on the motor and limits that could be with a 8:5:1 vs 9:1
